Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario (September 27, 2011) – Sunstroom completes the construction and grid connection of a 5MW solar PV project near Malmesbury, Wiltshire, England; comprising of approximately 20,000 HELIENE solar panels. The project is located on a brownfield site of approx. 36 acres and is not overlooked by local residents. It was constructed in 5 weeks and became operational days before the July 31st government deadline.
Iain Morrison, managing director of Sunstroom, said, “We are very pleased to have completed the construction of this large-scale park in such a short amount of time and we have drawn extensively on our knowledge and expertise gained from developing these parks in Spain to do so. We installed the UK’s first large-scale solar PV park down the road, also with HELIENE, last November and we have now most probably completed the last to be connected before the government deadline.”
With dedication to Quality, Innovation and Performance, HELIENE has and is prepared to continue to bring photovoltaic energy to Ontario for many years to come. Martin Pochtaruk, president of HELIENE said, “We have been working with Sunstroom since 2008 in their European ventures, and now this wonderful and fruitful partnership will also be present in Sunstroom’s projects in Ontario.”
